Aviomar Flight Academy is a selected training partner of Ryanair, Europe's no. 1 airline. Through Aviomar Flight Academy's mentored courses, students commence their training route into Ryanair from day 1 in a standardised and structured training programme.

All Ryanair Mentored Training Programmes are developed and delivered in accordance with the airline's operational standards. Regular auditing of trainee performance and course quality is monitored by the airline's training department. Prior to being admitted onto a programme, trainees must undergo a screening process which is arranged by the Academy's registration office.


AB-INITIO TRAINING PROGRAMME

The ab-initio training programme is an "Integrated ATPL" programme which is delivered in accordance with Ryanair Operational Standards and includes specific modules of training which introduce trainees to Ryanair SOPs, CRM standards and operational philosophy. The Ryanair Ab-Initio course includes 750 hours of theoretical knowledge instruction and 220 hours of practical training, which include the industry-leading APS MCC Course delivered on our Boeing 737-800 fixed base simulator. 

The programme has an average duration of 18 months and on successful completion of the final Ryanair assessment, the trainee will be offered a place on the Ryanair Boeing 737-800 Type Rating Course.

  • 16 December 2019 (applications by 25 Nov. 2019)
  • 20 April 2020 (applications by 30 Mar. 2020)

The programme has additional GATEWAYS to facilitate more experienced applicants:


GATEWAY 1: MODULAR (CPL/IR/MEP/APS MCC)

This programme is designed for students following a modular training programme and satisfy the following entry requirements:

  • EASA PPL(A) with 170 hrs total time of which 100 hrs PIC
  • EASA ATPL theory exams completed with 85% average minimum pass mark
  • EASA Class 1 medical certificate
  • Night Rating

Students will complete a Ryanair Mentored Training Programme comprising of the following modules:

  • UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training)
  • Multi Engine Piston (MEP) Class Rating
  • Instrument Rating 
  • Commercial Pilot License
  • Ryanair APS MCC


GATEWAY 2: AIRLINE PILOT STANDARDS MCC(A)

This programme is designed for students following a modular training programme and satisfy the following entry requirements:

  • EASA CPL/IR(A)-MEP
  • EASA ATPL Theory 
  • EASA Class 1 medical certificate

Students will complete a Ryanair Mentored Training Programme comprising of the Industry-Leading APS MCC(A) course.

GATEWAY 3: CAREER FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

This programme is designed for pilots wishing to pursue a career in pilot training and who meet the below entry requirements:

  • Passion for Training
  • EASA CPL/IR(A)-MEP and valid SEP
  • EASA ATPL Theory with 85% average results
  • EASA Class 1 medical certificate

Students will complete a Ryanair Mentored Training Programme comprising of the Industry-Leading APS MCC(A) Course, Teaching and Learning Instructor Core Course and the Flight Instructor course.

On successful termination of the programme, qualified pilots will be offered a career path with Ryanair and Aviomar. Following successful assessment with Aviomar & Ryanair, individuals will be offered a full time position with Aviomar as an instructor for 2 years. On termination of the 2 year period, the individual will be fast tracked with Ryanair on a 737 type rating. Applicants that choose this career path will continue to follow Ryanair’s instructor career path with the airline and can expect to become Ryanair SFI’s & Training Captains once qualification criteria are met.
