AVIOMAR organises courses of Aviation English, approved by ENAC, aimed to prepare the candidates for the Language Proficiency test, and improve their linguistic competences, required to operate in full safety  in international airspaces.

Our English teachers are mother tongue, regularly updated and trained in specific air operations topics and Aviation English.

We offer three different course types:

Basic English Course

Initial course for those who have a medium-low language proficiency level (ICAO Levels 2 and 3). In this course theory and exercises of grammar and vocabulary are treated at beginner/intermediate level, and reading, writing, conversation and listening skills are enhanced. The course brings the student in 80 hours of classroom to the required level for him/her to follow the specific "Aviation English" course.

Aviation English Course

The "Aviation English" course is studied for those candidates who have a language proficiency at level ICAO 3 and treats mainly aviation topics in English language.  The course is structured in 8 units, which focalise each on a specific aspect of aviation and the relative English phraseology. This course focuses especially on the communication between pilots and between flight crews and air traffic controllers, aiming to improve pronunciation, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. Within each unit the specific language used in normal operations and emergency situations is treated with examples of speakers of different nationalities and accents. The course has a duration of 60 hours.

Aviation English Seminar

The Aviation English seminar is intended for pilots who have a language proficiency level of ICAO 4 but wish to undergo the test with major preparation. This course is ideal for pilots who already have a ICAO level 4, but wish to improve their language skills and try to obtain a higher level. The course is structured in 3 units, which each analyses, verifies and improves the comprehension, pronunciation, fluency and capacity to phrase correctly in English in a general and aviation related context. This course is held face-to-face in groups of maximum 8 students. The seminar has a duration of 5 days (Monday to Friday).

Targeted Aviation English Training

Aviomar also organises one-to-one private lessons with mother-tongue teachers, which are personalised on the actual necessities of the candidate. The courses are organised on an "hours package" basis.
