AeMC Rome for Medical Fitness

The Rome AeMC – "Aldo di Loreto" Institute of Aerospace Medicine is an authorised facility where aspiring pilots and current licence holders can undergo the aeromedical examination required to obtain or maintain the validity of the medical certificate necessary to pilot an aircraft. A valid medical certificate is a mandatory requirement for all flight licences (private or professional).

According to current regulations, aeromedical examinations are categorized as Class 1 (required for professional licences such as ATPL and CPL), Class 2 (Private Pilot Licences), or LAPL (Light Aircraft Pilot Licence).

To obtain initial medical fitness, candidates must undergo the examination at a certified Aeromedical Centre (AeMC), such as the one in Rome. Alternatively, for revalidations or renewals, pilots may consult an Aeromedical Examiner (AME) authorised by ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority). Aviomar Flight School supports students and pilots with the booking process and provides operational information to ensure they approach the medical procedure correctly, including preparation and necessary documentation.
